Melette Perry: Diamond In The Rough

Wow where do I begin with Ms. Melette Perry? I guess I’ll start with her arrival on March 28, 1990. This young, ambitious, and beautiful lady defines inspiration for all future models when it comes to excelling in extraordinary heights. She loves eating, hanging out with friends, traveling, singing, and enjoying the outdoors! Melette was always a star student throughout her years of grad school graduating from Great Falls High. She took the honor of serving her country enlisting in the army in 2007. This decision had given her the opportunity she needed to make it out the small town of Great Falls, South Carolina. Being in Afghanistan during the war was an experience leading to her beginning as an upcoming model.

Personally Knowing Melette, I have to say she deserves all the success heading her way. Having the dignity to risk her life and dream to help protect her country says more about her than anything else you’ve read this far. It’s not easy pursuing big dreams when you come from the smallest of places. Today Melette is a college student in the city of Spartanburg doing photo shoots to build her portfolio. I encourage all viewers reading this post to be on the lookout. This diamond in the rough is one that will shine beyond all when she is finally discovered.

Melette: My mom has inspired me to model. She told me anything that I want I can do it if I put my mind to it.

NuCentz: How did it feel when you knew that your opportunity had come?

Melette: When my friend told me she knew someone that could help me build my portfolio I was very happy. I felt that I was given a chance to do something I had a passion for.

NuCentz: What has been the biggest challenge for you this far?

Melette: The biggest challenge is school. School is my number one priority right now.

NuCentz: Where do you see yourself in the next five years?

Melette: In five years I see myself as a college graduate with a modeling agency, possibly starting my career. - Interview by Ra’ja Williams
